Auto Dog Fence Barrier

Dog is your co-pilot.
Not so recently we were contacted by Dog Fence DIY and asked if we would like to review the Auto Dog Fence Barrier. Since Maggie and Duke hate wearing harnesses this seemed like a great idea.

Are we there yet?
A few years ago we made the mistake of letting Duke sit in between us because the car was jammed full of gear. Ever since, he'll try to move up front during the drive since there isn't a console in the way.

We're here! Jump on everybody time!

Duke also gets really excited when we get there, and tries to climb out the front. That's about 50 pounds of not cool. We'd been thinking that we should get a barrier, so we were excited to get one to check out.

When we got the Kurgo Back Seat Barrier it seemed pretty easy to install, until we found out that 3 of the D-rings needed to install it were missing.

When we contacted Dog Fence DIY they sent us an entire new barrier!  (which was still missing 2 D-rings according to the directions.)

The Mr. figured out how to install it using the 2 outer D-rings and it took less than 10 minutes.
Installed in a Honda Element.
The  Auto Dog Fence Barrier was easy to install and does a good job of keeping Duke in the backseat. The way it's installed right now it doesn't come all the way down to the floor. I'd rather have it high since Duke sits on the back seat. If you have a console between the front seats this would be perfect.

Duke is not amused. Maggie just wants to get out and go.
We'd definitely recommend the Auto Dog Fence Barrier, if anyone wants the extra one, please leave a comment.(I'll see if we can find D-rings at the hardware store so the instructions make more sense.) You can buy them at Dog Fence DIY, though it's easier to find them if you click on this link

Does this mean the whole back of the car is now a dog crate? Nice.

  1. What a cool product. Or two are harnessed in to keep them in the back. Happy Travels!

  2. That is a great idea and I have been known to climb onto my peeps lap whilst driving which is not so great so that would be a good one for us. Have a serene Sunday and get in some big easy today.
    Best wishes Molly

  3. I am always harnessed in the back seat so I do not get to "pass go" and jump in the front. But this is a great product for those dogs that tend to be in the back and try to climb in the front.

  4. Maggie and Duke try to chew each others harnesses off. If they can't reach they start in on their own. :)

  5. I love the idea but would need one from floor to above the front seats. I have a mini van with no console and I have any where from 6 to 13 dogs going with me. so no tie downs can work or harness.

  6. I have yet to find a barrier that contains Melvin! I would love for both boys to ride in the cargo area of the SUV but by the time I put Melvin in the back and walk to the front seat, there he is! Glad you guys found one that works!
